About

Ané Maríñez-Lora, PhD, is a Research Assistant Professor at the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice at the University of Chicago. Her clinical and research interests focus on caregiver strain experienced by mothers parenting children with mental health concerns, cultural adaptation of evidence-based interventions, clinicians’ use of evidence-based practices, and behavioral parent training with ethnic-racial minorities. She is a long-standing member of the Coalition’s steering committee and Chair of its Community Convening Workgroup. Ané migrated from the Dominican Republic to the United States when she was 10-years old. Her immigrant background and her work with immigrant families drives her commitment to the Coalition’s mission.
